Financial Support

All eligible applicants are automatically considered for financial assistance.

In 2012-2013 a full MA level teaching assistantship provided a stipend of $15,300.00 for a total of 270 hours of work over two terms (Fall and Winter).

Doctoral students were offered teaching assistantship in years 1 to 4 of their PhD program for an amount of about $20,218.00 per year.

Students with grade averages of 'A-' or higher in the final two years of study were eligible for a York Graduate Scholarship (YGS) of $10,000.00 or $6,000.00 for MA students and $3,000.00 for PhD students in their first year of full-time study.

Part-time students are not eligible for consideration of any financial assistance.
